Commissioners Candidate Pledge

I fully understand the economic, environmental, and recreational importance that High Rock Lake represents to Davidson County and the surrounding area.   Recognizing the importance of the Alcoa Re-licensing process that will be complete in April 2006 and that High Rock Lake has been added to the 303d Impaired Body of Water list under the Clean Water Act, I take the following pledge:

If I, ___________________  am elected to the office of County Commissioner for Davidson County, I promise to fully exercise all powers bestowed upon me as an elected official and citizen to work with CPOHRL , SaveHighRockLake.Org, High Rock Lake Association, the High Rock Lake Business Group and other concerned residents of our county to achieve our goal to maintain proper lake management, year round water levels of not less than three feet below full pond and to promote economic development.  Specifically I pledge to:

Actively support the lake organizations with the Alcoa re-licensing process by staying informed of the issues, attending IAG meetings, lobbing and advocating for High Rock Lake with State and Federal agencies and actively supporting and promoting High Rock Lake as a major resource for Davidson County’s future.

Support the development of the Davidson County Master Recreation Plan and support the generation of revenue to fund the plan developed by the community.  I will also promote High Rock Lake as a key part of this plan.
